fixation.

This is a tumblr full of completely unrelated information. It doesn't discriminate, and neither should you.

More on me professionally can be found here: http://www.jenrizzo.com or you can email me.

If you're new here, know that it's a mixture of being a nerd about food and beer combined with a lot of very cute photos, and sometimes I write too many words. You're invited to start with some of my favorites:
Design and Usability for Restaurants (external link)
On meat and our obligation to the world around us
The death of a dive bar
What I am grateful for, 2010
An open letter to Rick Perry
Failing at my 150 mile bike ride

A good morning: just stuffed 24 pounds of sausage. (Taken with Instagram)

Two things.
1. YEAH YOU DID
2. So these 24 pounds of sausage were made for the vacation I’m about to take, and you guys, I’m so excited I might just throw up. This has been The Year Of The Birthday Trip, a year I’m proud to say my best friend and I kicked off in March by forcing all of our loved ones to leave San Francisco and come get drunk with us in Portland for ten days. My friend Drue turned 40 a couple weeks back and invited all of us to Sonoma for the weekend, where we curled up under blankets on the back deck and stared out at the stars and threw corks at one another for three days.
And this trip? Oh, this trip. My brilliant friends have rented a massive house on a massive lake in a place no one’s ever heard of, way the hell away from everything we’re used to. The better part of a pig has been purchased. I just handed off a bag full of jello, vodka, champagne vinegar and mustard. Coffee is taken care of. The kegs are probably already loaded into the car, and the people I love will be shoveling oysters into their mouths within a couple of hours.
It’s a really charmed life sometimes, and I am so grateful for it. See you on Tuesday, tumblr friends!
